Enlightment
Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water.
The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken.
Although its light is wide and great,
The moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide.
The whole moon and the entire sky
Are reflected in one dewdrop on the grass.
The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken.
Although its light is wide and great,
The moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide.
The whole moon and the entire sky
Are reflected in one dewdrop on the grass.

I learnt Meditation in The Osho Ashram at Pune many years back. I loved it.It gave me immense relief from some mental troubles and a lot of peace. Recently, I discovered an article on Osho which seemed to put him down, and in that effort, the article posed certain questions on meditation too. Now I am very confused. My best support for peace seems in clouds and smokes now. I want to know if there is any scientific explanation or working theory on meditation and enlightenment. What happens to the mind during meditation, what are the aftereffects and side-effects, and what is the state of mind in those rare cases of enlightenment? Metaphorical explanations like moon and water and reflection just don't answer my more pragmatic and practical questions. I wish someone answers these questions.
Beautiful.
I agree.
